Finland disappointment for Athanassoulas.

After success on the tarmac of the Rallye Deutschland Greek driver Lambros Athanassoulas faced the daunting stages of the famous Neste Rally Finland. Lamros was quickly on the pace after a puncture on Stage 1 to move into a challenging position by Friday afternoon. However on the repeat of the Vellipohja stage the Fiesta bottomed out on the ruts and was pitched into the trees at over 120kph and into retirement. Fortunately both driver and codriver were unhurt in the accident but the impact on the roof of the Fiesta ST will require a complete reshell before the next round on Rally GB.

Scot Barry Clark became the fourth different winner out of five rounds in the latest counter of the inaugural Fiesta Sporting Trophy International (FSTi). Clark took the lead on stage six on Friday and having set ten fastest stage times out of the twenty one stages in the 351 km route he was never challenged and has moved up to second overall in the series.
