Date: 8 September 2005Highs and lows for RS International in Ulster Rally thrillerThe Leicestershire based RS International experienced both the highs and lows of International Motorsport when their Ford Fiesta S1600 made it's debut on the British Rally Championship. The stunning green and white liveried car made a massive impact on the competitors and spectators on the Ulster Rally at the weekend with impressive speed from the start launching the car into an early class lead. Of the 18 Special Stages the Fiesta was fastest in class on 16 tests and had built up an impressive 7 minute lead until a heartbreaking finale on the last stage. "The car had run fabulously for the entire rally, completing over 120 miles of competitive driving before a small crack appeared in the radiator and we lost all the water. Even with such a massive lead we could not nurse the car home and had to retire within sight of the finish" reported driver Justin Dale. This event was the first in the RS International programme and despite the obvious disappointment the team and sponsor remained upbeat as the car is still very new. "The interest in this spectacular Fiesta was incredible and the pace shows huge potential for the future." enthused RS International MD Paige Patel. "The press interest is growing and we are looking forward to the reaction to the coverage of this event on Sky Sports." For further information regarding RMS call 01296 670178. |
